CHICAGO

Urban Fabric Rugs

Signature collection

Material: 100% New Zealand Virgin Wool

Technique: Tufted and Hand-carved

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Our Signature Chicago rug depicts a city rich with architectural history. Considered the birthplace of the modern skyscraper, Chicago was built up along the shores of Lake Michigan. The beautiful and dense city center is concentrated along the waterfront and sprawls westward into the flatness of America’s mid-west. To highlight this in the design, our rug of Chicago begins with the tightly-knitted street grid of the CBD and gradually unravels as it disappears into the vast landscape beyond. The Signature rug is tufted at multiple cut pile heights with 100% New Zealand wool, then hand-carved to give the urban pattern a plush, 3D relief texture. The Signature Chicago rug is depicted with a rich oxblood base and highlighted with Fiery Reds, a nod to the Great Chicago Fire that precipitated historic changes to building materials and led to the development of the skyscraper building typology.
