Twice Woven Rug No. 3

The 'Twice Woven Rug’ collection employs an inventive new production technique, borne of the traditional processes inherent in weaving. Wool is handwoven into a series of 25cm strips. These strips are then woven again, like oversized yarn, into a loosely woven rug. The rugs have an undeniably handmade quality paired with simple, playful compositions developed through MOS Architects’ thoughtful and iterative design process. These rugs are deliberately assembled into irregular shapes and patterns, underscoring their handmade nature. These irregular assemblies lend the final composed textiles an imperfect, crafted character resembling that found in the surface of the flatwoven material itself.
